- The word for today is Perseverance!
- Don't worry about how you started the race, focus on how you will end.
- The Patience that this verse speak about is being Patient in spirit.
- Be patient because Phil. 1:6 says that "God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."
- So that means, you are a work in progress.
- The important thing is to continue to look ahead. Don't look back!
- Move forward! Continue to grow and mature in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
- In order for you to do this, you must constantly remind yourself of who you are, not who you were.
- Say to yourself, "I am not who I used to be! But I am who God created me to be...and I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." (Phil.4:13)
- If you are moving forward, then you must remind yourself that "You are not who you were."
- You will never move forward if you are looking in the rear view mirror.
- A runner will never win a race if he is constantly looking behind him.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"
- A long distance runner has to remind himself that he is a long distance runner and not a sprinter.
- Knowing this makes all the difference if you want to finish!
- Remind yourself of who you are.
- You are God's child. (Jn 1:12)
- You are a disciple, You are a friend of Jesus Christ. (Jn. 15:15)
- You have been justified. (Rom.5:1)
- You have been bought with a price and You belong to God.(1 Cor.6:19-20)
- You have been redeemed and forgiven of all your sins. (Col. 1:13-14
- You are complete in Christ. (Col. 2:9-10)
- I am free from condemnation. (Rom. 8:1-2)
- You have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7)
- Here are a few to get you going...
- Now, go and finish what you have started...
- Persevere!
- God bless you!
- Have a great Weekend!
