- What are some of the interruptions that you have experienced?
- How do you deal with being interrupted?
- The definition of Interruption is, "to stop or hinder by breaking in” (Webster’s dictionary)
- It means that something stopped what you wanted to do.
- Something came in the way of your plans
- Something altered your course.
- Imagine what this interruption felt like to Joseph, who was engaged to be married to Mary.
- Interruptions always begin with a “But”
- This was how I planned for things to go, “BUT”
- In his case, Mary was pregnant and the child wasn’t his.
- Yikes, that’s a Big But! (no pun intended)
- "But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
- It was an interruption…but the bigger question is how is Joseph going to deal with this interruption.
- The way that he handles it all depends on how he views it.
- He can choose to see it as an interruption to His plans or an Invitation to join God His plan.
- An invitation is something totally different than an interruption.
- We tend to look forward to invitations.
- You have a choice with an invitation…you can say “yes” or “No"
- But if he sees it as an interruption then he can leave and run or divorce her.
- The reality, which Joseph chose to see was that God was inviting Him into something far greater.
- God was inviting Him to raise His son.
- So what about you?
- Are you experiencing an interruption?
- A relationship problem?
- A financial problem?
- A health problem?
- What if, what you perceived as an interruption was really an invitation?
- What if?
- What if you embraced that Interruption as an invitation for God’s Bigger plan?
- What if God was inviting you so that He could demonstrate His power through you?
- What if God wanted to extend His Grace through you?
- What if God wanted to show His Forgiveness through you?
- Maybe today is the day that you need to embrace that interruption as an invitation.
- What if?
- Have a great Tuesday!
