Psalm 9:10 NIV
- Do you KNOW His name?
- To know His name means that you have walked with Him.
- It's not a casual acquaintance
- It's an intimate relationship.
- The Amplified Bible reads this way, “And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You"
- So have you experienced His precious mercy?
- I performed a memorial service yesterday for a man and in talking to His Father prior to the service, he said, "There were two things that you knew about my son. You knew where he stood with his family and where he stood with God.
- That really caught my attention.
- Just two simple things but two very important things.
- The things that were most important to him were reflected in his actions.
- He loved his family and his kids and that was obvious in how he sacrificed for them.
- And people knew about His relationship with Jesus.
- It wasn't hidden, it was obvious!
- At the end of your life, would people be able to say that about you?
- Do you know the name of the Lord?
- Not just, know about Him, but do you really KNOW Him?
- Have you walked with Him, in an intimate relationship?
- Have you experienced His mercy and grace?
- Is He first?
- Is He important?
- Do others see that in you?
- And then how about your family and those that you live the most?
- Do they know and can they see how much you love them?
- Do you sacrifice for them?
- Do you love unconditionally?
- Because your love for your loved ones will flow out of your walk with the Lord.
- Your walk with the Lord will be reflected in your actions.
- It will be obvious to all!
- Today, evaluate your life.
- What is most important to you?
- Would what other people say about you match up with what you say is most important?
- When Jesus was asked, what is the greatest commandment, this is how He responded.
- “Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39
- Two things - Love God and Love others!
- Let's let our lives reflect that!
- Have a great Monday!
