- The believers were "filled"
- What would cause them to be filled?
- If you look at the previous verses, you see that they were telling gentiles and Jews alike about God's plan of Salvation. And then verse 49 says, "“The word of the Lord spread through the whole region."
- But then you see in verse 50 that “They were persecuted and expelled them from their region.” by the leaders of the city.
- The Word of God was spreading and then Persecution came!
- After the persecution it says they were "Filled".
- Filled with joy and the Holy Spirit!
- So what had the greater impact on their life?
- The Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
- You would think that it would say that they were frustrated or discouraged because of the persecution, but no, they were filled with Joy & the Holy Spirit.
- The work of God and the Power of God allowed them to look past the persecution by the people.
- The Word "filled" is in the imperfect tense, expressing continued action in past time.
- The disciples were being continually filled and empowered day by day.
- Being filled with the Spirit is not a one time initial experience.
- Being filled is a daily experience.
- God will fill you daily for the needs that you have and the tasks that are ahead of you.
- Today, don't focus on your problems or difficulties, instead surrender yourself to Him and be filled with the Holy Spirit and with Joy.
- Let your whole being be filled.
- Let him renew your mind and heart.
- Let Him guide and direct your actions.
- Let Him fill your mouth with His words.
- Today, look past the difficulties and focus on His Power and presence!
- Have a great Tuesday.
"And the believers were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”(Acts 13:52 ) NLT
