- What has captured your attention this morning?
- I love this phrase, the disciples "stunned with bewildered wonder".
- Jesus' ability and power had definitely captured their attention... So much so that they were stunned.
- I picture them with wide eyes and mouths dropped open... Stunned!
- When was the last time Jesus captured your attention like that?
- These same disciples had just jumped in a boat with Jesus to simply cross to the other side.
- And while they were crossing, Matt. 8:24 says "suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves"
- Have any storms come up in your life like this...
- You didn't see it coming and here it is!
- Now in an instant, you have found yourself in the middle of a mess.
- Have you been filled with fear or confusion?
- Has it captured your attention?
- Look around again... Who is in your boat?
- Yeah, a bunch of people just as scared as you!
- But, look again, who is in your boat?
- v 24 ends with, "but He was sleeping."
- Jesus knows what power he posses' but He also wants you to know what power you have when He is in your boat!
- He isn't the least bit afraid of the storms you face and neither should you be.
- In verse 26 (NLT), "Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm."
- The reason He is not afraid is because He has given you the faith that you need to calm the storm.
- He has given you a voice to speak to it.
- Your storm has no power over you except what you have given it.
- He is in your Boat!
- 1 John 4:4 says, "You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world."
- Why fear the storm when there is someone Greater who has given you authority over the storm?
- Let the power of Jesus stun you today!
- Romans 8:11 says, "The (same) Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you."
- Where?
- "In you!"
- Be "stunned with bewildered wonder" today, at who He is and with what He has left you.
- Don't be a person of great fear, be a person of great Faith!
- Live your life full of Faith, today!
- Have a great weekend!
