- Do you know that God wants to speak to you?
- Do you know when God speaks?
- Do you know what He is saying?
- In 1 Sam. 3: 7 it says, 'Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before."
- When God first came to him, Samuel did not know how to hear from God…- - Spiritually he was deaf - He could not hear God's voice.
- But Eli, the old prophet gave him some important instructions; He said "If someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed."
- Samuel went back to bed but he had to be ready.
- He had to be prepared…
- And when God spoke, Samuel's job was to listen.
- Are you prepared to hear from God this morning?
- Do you know that God is active all around you, In your school, at work, with your friends, in your home?
- God desperately wants to speak, but very few are listening.
- 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, "God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him."
- God is looking for opportunities to speak to you.
- John 10: 3-4 says, "The sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice."
- If you have God's Spirit in you, then you should know how to hear and know His voice.
- This morning, as you get alone with God - don't speak first…Give Him room to speak.
- Like Samuel, say "Speak, your servant is listening."
- We have so many voices competing for our attention - so much noise that we have grown accustom to.
- As Psalm 46:10 says, Take the time to, “Be still, and know that I am God"
- Slow down your world and listen…
- He wants to speak hope to your hopeless situation.
- He wants to give life to those dead places in your heart.
- He wants to cast vision in the places where you have been spiritually blind.
- He wants to build you up and inspire!
- He wants to fill you with His Spirit.
- He wants you to be less self absorbed and begin to see the needs around you.
- So, take the time and prepare your spiritual ears to hear, today.
- Too many times we settle for less than God's best by going for human help when we could have had God's help.
- But it all starts with listening and hearing His voice.
- All throughout the day today, say, "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening."
- Have a great Thursday!
