- This scripture caught my attention this weekend, “When Jesus saw their faith”
- Their faith was something he could see!
- Their faith was an active faith not passive.
- These men had a need... their friend was paralyzed.
- Doctors couldn’t heal him.
- Medicine couldn’t fix this need.
- They just had to get their need into the presence of Jesus.
- This is an incredible picture of prayer.
- They not only believed with their heart and mind that Jesus could heal, but their actions followed!
- James 2:26 (amp) says, “Faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.”
- So, I guess you would say that their faith was ALIVE and ACTIVE!
- They brought their friend, carrying him on a mat, all the way to the house where Jesus was teaching.
- But Luke 5:19 says that they could not find a way to get him there because the crowd was so big.
- But they didn’t let that stop them.
- It goes on to say, “When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.”
- Their faith was so strong that they were willing to do the ridiculous in order to receive a miracle from Jesus.
- Today, what does your faith look like to Jesus?
- Do you believe that He can meet your need?
- Do you believe that He will?
- Are you willing to do whatever it takes?
- Philippians 4:6 says, “In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
- Today, Identify your need.
- Do whatever it takes to get in His presence and present your need to Jesus.
- Believe that He can meet the need.
- Have faith that He will meet your need.
- Have a great Monday.
“When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”” Luke 5:20 NIV
