Proverbs 14:30 NLT
- Are you content with what you have and where you are in life?
- Or, do you see what others have and wish that was you?
- I think if we are honest, most people aren't content.
- Most people want more.
- Most people want a bigger house, better job, better car, a better relationship, more money and more things.
- They look at what others have and say, "I wish I had that" or "I deserve that."
- That's called Jealousy.
- This proverb say that, "jealousy is like cancer in the bones."
- Jealousy can actually lead to sickness.
- It's letting what others have consume you.
- But if your mind is focused on what you don't have then you will never be satisfied with what you do have... you will never be content.
- Hebrews 13:5 tells us, “...be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
- A peaceful heart comes out of a right relationship with God.
- Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace. (Isa. 9:6)
- Jesus told his followers, "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." (John 14:27)
- True peace... real lasting peace only comes out of a relationship with Jesus.
- Peace doesn't come from getting more "stuff" but from being in the presence of the right Person.
- When you make it a priority to be in the presence of Jesus and focus on Him, He gives you His peace.
- Peace is a fruit of the Spirit which means that it only come by the Spirit.
- It's a spiritual thing.
- The peace that He offers means physical, emotional and spiritual wholeness.
- Today, focus on Jesus.
- Spend time with Him and be content with your relationship with Him.
- As you are filled with His Spirit, He will not only Fill you but He will keep you fulfilled in every area of your life.
- Have a great Tuesday!
