- What you focus on determines what you pursue.
- Your focus determines the direction of your day and life.
- The end result is what you worship.
- Matthew 2: 1 says, "Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews?"
- The wise men were in pursuit of the King of the Jews.
- They had studied the stars and done all of the calculations.
- As soon as that star appeared, they knew it...And they set off in pursuit!
- This pursuit caused them to focus on the star that lead them to worship the Savior.
- So, the big question is, What are you pursuing today?
- Are you running around in circles wearing yourself out and accomplishing very little?
- Or, do you have a single pursuit?
- Do you have a defined goal?
- What is it that you want to accomplish?
- Today, intentionally make sure you are pursuing Christ and the peace that He brings.
- "seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides." (Matthew 6:33)
- Choose to Focus on what you have and not what you don't have.
- Choose to Focus on the eternal not the temporary things.
- Choose to NOT focus on the things in your life that you have no control over.
- If you aren’t careful, you will experience a lot of distractions this month.
- There are all kinds of activities to do, gifts to buy and events to attend.
- Identify the distractions, move beyond them, and get that one single minded pursuit back.
- Filter everything through your pursuit of your relationship with Christ.
- If you begin your morning focused on Christ and having His presence and peace in your life it will lead you to a life of worship.
- As you worship Him, you will experience His presence.
- His presence will lead you into His blessing.
- Have a great Thursday!
