- King Hezekiah was facing an impossible situation.
- The Assyrian army had come to attack Judah and destroy their city.
- The king of Assyria had just sent a message to king Hezekiah, basically telling them to surrender.
- The Assyrians were on the verge of plundering the city.
- The "problem" is on Hezekiah's "doorstep".
- The situation looked hopeless.
- Bur when Hezzekiah reads the letter from the Assyrian king, v14 says, "he went up to the Lord ’s Temple and spread it out before the Lord."
- He spreads it out before The Lord.
- It's an act of surrender to The Lord.
- He is saying, God, I can't deal with this, it's to big for me, so I need you to deal with it.
- That is an act of Faith!
- Turning to God and surrendering a problem to Him is an act of Faith.
- Your prayer this morning is a step of faith.
- It's acknowledging that God is able.
- What problem or situation are you facing, right now, that you need to lay out before The Lord?
- If you need to, write it out and lay it before him.
- Simply say, "God, this is yours, I know you are Able!"
- The interesting thing is that the answer to Hezekiah's prayer was already in motion - he just didn't know it.
- Even though he didn't see the answer yet, he prayed.
- At that same time, the king of Ethiopia was about to attack The Assyrians.
- So, the king of Assyria had to withdrawal his arm and leave and take care of things at home.
- Hezekiah watched God's rescue!
- He saw God answer his prayers.
- The same is true for you and your situation.
- God already has the answer to your prayer waiting for you.
- He is All Knowing and All Powerful!
- He just needs you to surrender.
- He needs you to come to him, lay it out before Him and ask.
- Jesus says, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you." (Matt.7:7)
- Don't give up.
- Don't wear out.
- Keep asking- keep seeking - keep knocking.
- He Will Deliver!
- God bless you!
- Have a great Tuesday!
