- When you got dressed this morning, did you remember to put on Righteousness?
- Righteousness is one of the pieces of body armor that the apostle Paul instructs us to put on in order to combat the enemy of your soul.
- Satan is constantly trying to put thoughts of failure and defeat in your mind.
- He will tell you that you are condemned and try to fill you with guilt.
- He will try to defeat you with mental attacks.
- His goal is to make you feel ineffective as a Christian.
- In Ephesians 6:11 The Apostle Paul says, "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
- Satan will be relentless in his attacks, that’s why we have to be fully prepared and ready.
- One of the most important pieces of Body armor is God’s righteousness.
- Another translation call it the “Breastplate of righteousness.”
- Righteousness is a weapon.
- But it’s not righteousness that you can attain by being kind and doing nice things.
- It doesn’t come from good works.
- You can’t do enough good things to be righteous by God’s standard.
- It is literally the Righteousness of Christ.
- If you have made Jesus Lord of your life, then 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- Jesus became sin, for you, on the cross, for the purpose of giving you His righteousness.
- You don’t have to work for it or do good things to attain it.
- All you have to do is receive it.
- He has made His righteousness available for you.
- He paid the greatest price in order to make that available.
- Why not receive it?
- If you have the body armor of God’s righteousness firmly in place, then it doesn’t matter how many times and how many different ways that the enemy attacks you…
- He won’t be able to touch you.
- Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper.”
- No weapon of condemnation
- No accusation.
- No weapon of discouragement
- No weapon of depression.
- No weapon of guilt will penetrate your heart or lodge in your mind when you are walking in your breastplate of righteousness.
- Ephesians 4:24 says, "You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God's likeness—righteous, holy, and true.”
- That’s who you are, because of what Jesus has done.
- Tell yourself each morning, “I am holy, righteous and true!"
- His grace has made it available.
- Jesus made it available for you, so clothe yourself in righteousness.
- Now, go live out what you already are.
- Have a great Monday!
