Acts 2:21 NIV
- This scripture talks about the return of the Lord.
- When Jesus ascended into heaven, an angel said, "Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
- We as followers of Christ are to be prepared and always looking for His return.
- Don't forget, Jesus is coming back!
- We need to be prepared and looking up.
- 2 Peter 3:10 says, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night."
- In other words, It will happen at an unexpected time or an unexpected way.
- Most people will be caught off guard.
- 2 Peter 3:3-4 says, "In the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.””
- The Bible tells us this will happen and that is exactly what people are saying.
- So, today, don't listen to people. listen to the Word of God.
- Have a heart that is repentant an ready for His return.
- If you want to know how to be ready for His return, look at 2 Peter 3:11 says, "Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives”
- In other words, turn from your way of doing things and turn to Jesus.
- That is the essence of repentance.
- Turn from your sins and surrender to Jesus.
- Acts 2:21 says, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved"
- Everyone means, you!
- Regardless of your past, God has a future for you.
- Turn to Him today!
