- Are you rooted in Him?
- Do you know how roots go down deep?
- Its called, adverse conditions.
- Conditions that are less than favorable.
- When wind blows against a tree, it causes their root systems to grow deeper.
- The purpose of roots that go deep is that it supports the tree as it grows taller.
- The larger the tree, the deeper the root system.
- If it doesn’t have deep roots, then it becomes easily uprooted with the first strong storm.
- The apostle Paul is saying that our roots need to grow down in Him (Jesus).
- The only way that happens is when you face difficulties through the storms of life.
- So, the next time difficulties comes in your life, don’t look to run from them, instead, cling to Him.
- Look at the purpose behind the problem...
- Look at what is being produced in you
- When the storms hit, you hold on to Jesus.
- Get rooted…let your roots go down deep
- Hold onto His Word.
- Cling to it as if it is Life itself.
- Psalm 63:8 says, "My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”
- To "cling" to God means that you intentionally hold onto Him and Him alone.
- 1 Cor. 15: 2 says, "By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you.”
- To "Hold firmly" is another word for “cling"
- To "cling" to God means that you look up His promises in His word and that you believe them and trust in them.
- You speak of His promises day and night.
- You seek his favor.
- You look for His approval and not for that of men.
- You invest your time, energy and resources into your relationship with Him.
- And your goal is to always keep His praise on your lips.
- Don’t let the enemy steal your praise.
- The person who clings to God as their source, always looks to Him for their deliverance.
- They always talk about their God who will "bring them out.”
- Colossians 2:7 then goes on to say, "Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
- When?…Then!
- “Then” means after the difficulty or after you have trusted and relied on Him as you go through adversity.
- Then, what is produced?
- Thankfulness!
- And not just thankfulness that comes from your head, but thankfulness that overflows from your heart.
- A thankfulness that comes from a deep walk and a deep revelation of the power of your God.
- You will have overflowing thankfulness that pours out all over every person you come in contact with.
- So are you ready for an overflow of thankfulness?
- Then, get rooted!
- God bless you, have a great Tuesday!
