- Are you prepared?
- I asked that question to our church this weekend concerning our Hurricane that we just went through.
- Were you completely prepared?
- Or did you find out that you could have prepared better or done more?
- Some were prepared but many realized that they were not as prepared as they thought they were.
- Now, that is dealing with a natural disaster, but the bigger question is, Spiritually are your prepared?
- Are you prepared for Jesus' return?
- He could return at any moment but most forget or choose not to focus on it.
- The apostle Paul says, "the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.”
- A thief comes when you least expect it.
- But he goes on to say, “But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.” 1 Thessalonians 5:4 NLT
- Followers of Christ should not be surprised!
- You should not be in the dark.
- You should be ready and prepared at any moment.
- That means that you need to forgive anyone that you should forgive.
- Get rid of bitterness and resentment.
- Let go of offenses.
- Live a pure life.
- Confess, Un-confessed sin and receive Christ's forgiveness, which he offers freely.
- Restore broken relationships.
- Examine yourself, Spiritually.
- Repent and return to Christ.
- You have an opportunity to begin again.
- 1 John 1:9 says, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness."
- You can have a fresh start.
- You can be totally prepared and expectantly looking for His return.
- Don't be caught unprepared.
- You are not in the darkness, you are in the Light.
- Today is a good day to be prepared and to help others prepare as well.
- Have a great Wednesday!
"For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.” 1Thessalonians 5:2 NLT
