- Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks...
- Do you hear it?
- He is looking to hang out with you, to be with you.
- He wants to speak vision into your life.
- This verse is not spoken to the unsaved. This is spoken to the church.
- In Rev. 3:14 Jesus is speaking to the church of Laodicea, a church that hade become lukewarm.
- They were not cold or hot - there was no use for them.
- Because of this He was about to spit them out.
- The reason is found in verse 17, "For you say, I am rich; I have prospered and grown wealthy, and I am in need of nothing; and you do not realize and understand that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked."
- The key phrase is "I am in need of nothing."
- They had become blind to their needs.
- They were poor, blind and naked spiritually and couldn't see it.
- We need to be careful of becoming satisfied and complacent.
- We have a Need - To have a Need...To see our Need!
- Are there areas of your life where you have become satisfied? You have need of nothing!
- Think about all the areas of your life, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually!
- What do you need?
- Do you have a need for His presence?
- Are you desperate for Him?
- Do you realize that without Him you are nothing?
- The Psalmist said, "As the dear pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?"
- Do you long for His presence like this? If not, why not?
- God wants to fill you with His presence and reveal Himself, to the world around you, through you.
- He wants you to be so full of Him that it spills over into the needs around you...that is one of your needs.
- What are the needs of those around you, where God has placed you, that He wants you to meet?
- This morning open your eyes to your "Needs"!
- You have them, if you will open your eyes and really look hard enough.
- Beware of becoming complacent, apathetic and satisfied!
- Today He stands at the door and knocks!
- Can you hear His voice?
- He wants to come in and meet every need!
- He wants to come in and fill you with His presence and power like never before!
- Will you open the door?
- Have a great Wednesday!
