- He stayed!
- If we are ever going to do all that Jesus has for us to do then we must be willing to stay where He stays.
- Originally he was on a journey with His disciples from Judea to Galilee.
- He took the direct route, through Samaria, in order to teach his disciple and break the racial divide.
- But now He stays!
- It's one thing to "pass through" and it's another thing to "stay".
- Jesus identifies with those who are hated, despised and rejected.
- Here's what I see... when you aren't accepted by anyone, Jesus sits right down and says "let me stay with you and let me hear your story"
- When Religion rejects you, your Savior accepts you!
- He doesn't care what other people think or care about all the gossip that will take place.
- He takes time to ensure that you know you are loved.
- You are not a "side story"... you ARE the story!
- You aren't a detour from the main journey... You have become the destination!
- While everyone else thinks the purpose for Jesus is Galilee, He shows us that His purpose is that all people, even the hated and despised, would know that they are loved.
- He tells His followers in Acts 1:8, “...And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””
- Do you see that, it says Samaria.
- If you want to make an impact with your life and reach the ends of the earth then you first must be willing to go to Samaria.
- You have to be willing to humble yourself, let go of pride and reach those closest to you, who you avoid.
- Those who you think don't deserve His love.
- Those who you think deserve to be in the situation and place that they are in.
- But you will never reach the ends of the earth if you aren't willing to sit down and stay in Samaria.
- What is your Samaria?
- Who or what have you avoided that needs to know that they are accepted and loved?
- Are you willing to go to all the places that Jesus wants to take you?
- Surrender your way and your steps to Jesus today and be amazed at where he takes you!
- Have a great Wednesday!
"When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days,” (John 4:40)
