(Psalms 91:14 NLT)
- Have you look around and seen problems without answers?
- Are you struggling to live in faith when you are surrounded with fear?
- Then let me encourage you to spend some time today reading and dwelling on Psalm 91.
- It is an amazing Psalm of God's safety, protection and provision for all those who trust in Him.
- And its a great reminder in the middle of this 21 day fast, of who our God is and what He is capable of when we trust and dwell in Him.
- Not because of anything special you have done or any religious duty, No, it starts out by saying, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
- The actual meaning of “Dwell" is "to take up permanent residence in.”
- God wants our relationship with Him to be constant and steady.
- A moment by moment relationship.
- Not just one in which we run to Him in an emergency.
- He wants you to “Live” in Him and when you do that, He lives in you.
- If you live with Him, it means that you have surrendered your life to the Lord.
- He is in charge of your life and wherever He goes, you go.
- You trust in Him and in His safety.
- That’s the only requirement, that you dwell with Him
- But the results of dwelling and living in Him are amazing and life changing.
- Four names of God are given in verse 1 & 2 alone.
- He is “Most High”, that means He is greater than any threat that you face.
- Then He is called, “Almighty” which emphasizes His power to confront and destroy the enemy.
- Then He is called “The LORD” assuring us that His presence is always with us.
- And in verse 2 He is called “my God” which expresses the truth that God has chosen to walk intimately with anyone who trusts in His name.
- He has a name that can be trusted in and its a name that you can rely on.
- As you close out Psalm 91, it reads like this, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
- This is what God says to you this morning:
- He will rescue you! (deliver and cause you to escape)
- He will protect you (set you on a high place)
- He will answer you (respond to and speak to you)
- He will be with you in trouble (in your afflictions and in distress)
- He will deliver you (rescue, to bring into safety)
- He will Honor you (which means to make rich, strong, heavy with honor)
- He will give you long life and satisfy you. (you will have abundance in your journey with Him)
- He will show you His salvation. (You will see deliverance & victory)
- Let me encourage you to hang out with Him and dwell with Him today.
- Fall in love with Him all over again!
- Dwell on who He is and all that He has provided for you.
- God bless you, have a great weekend!
