- Today our church is headed off on a mission trip to help the people who are flooded in Louisiana.
- I say “our church” even though there are only 15 of us who are physically able to go.
- But we are “one body” and that means that we are relying on the prayers of those who are home.
- Our church has given generously, with money, toolS, equipment and supplies but the most important thing you can give is your prayers.
- Your prayers will strengthen us.
- Your prayers will give us safety.
- Your prayers will help us to see what God has planned.
- Ephesians 6: 18 says to pray for all believers everywhere!
- Do you realize how powerful your prayers are?
- When you commit to pray for someone, it is a priceless investment into that person’s life!
- Many things happen or don’t happen in this world because of the prayers of believers.
- We talk a lot about prayer, but many times we are guilty of not doing it.
- When was the last time you prayed for your parents, teachers, pastor, coaches, friends, missionaries, or employers?
- I’m talking about more than, “God bless Don, and God bless my teacher..."
- I’m talking about praying for every aspect of their lives—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
- Pray for Gods favor and Gods anointing to rest upon them in everything they do.
- Pray that they "will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead. " (Eph. 1:19)
- Pray that they would be strong in the Lord and not compromise in any way.
- Pray that "from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower them with inner strength through his Spirit. (Eph. 3:16)
- Pray that "God, who began the good work within them "will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns." (Phil. 1:6)
- I encourage you to choose one person and commit to praying for him or her for five minutes a day for seven days.
- And, of course, I want to encourage you to pray for our team as we become the hands and feet of Christ and minister to those who have lost so much.
- Remember..."The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." (James 5:16)
- We need your prayers!
- Have a great Wednesday!
