Mark 4:35 NKJV
- Jesus told His disciples that they were going to cross over.
- Jesus was telling them that He had a destination that He wanted to get to.
- This was a word of promise.
- This is divine direction.
- The problem is that a great storm arose in the middle of their trip!
- Don’t you hate storms?
- Even worse, Great Big Storm!
- Even though we may not like storms, the storm that you are going through doesn’t have to keep you from the destination that Jesus has planned for you.
- That storm that causes sickness, brokenness, loss, failure or pain.
- Whatever storm it is; your storm is not bigger than Jesus and the plan that He has for you.
- Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” (John 16:33)
- Your storm may be painful and it may be confusing but don’t let your storm cause you to walk away from Jesus or walk away from your faith.
- The peace that you seek is found in Him.
- Draw near to Him!
- Cling to Him!
- Keep asking, seeking and knocking for His presence and comfort to get you through your storm.
- In this story, the destination had nothing to do with the storm; they would still get there despite the storm.
- But they would arrive different than they started the journey.
- In the journey they experienced the awesome presence of God that revealed itself in the worst part of the storm.
- It says, “And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”” Mark 4:41
- They had no idea of what He was capable of!
- They had a new revelation that He could speak peace to the storm.
- He could deliver peace and He would deliver them.
- He had others that they needed to minister to on the other side of the lake.
- That means He still had a purpose for them just like he has a purpose for you.
- Stay in the boat with Jesus… He will get you there.
- Never let the storm steal his presence with you and never let the storm steal his purpose for you.
- Trust in Him and discover a peace that you would have never known if it wasn’t for the storm.
- His peace is in the storm.
- Have a great Tuesday.
