- Its easy to let discouragement and distractions pull you away from what you
originally set out to do.
- The Corinthian church was a church that had money.
- They had set out to give a financial gift to the church in Jerusalem the
previous year.
- The Apostle Paul is reminding them to fulfill the commitment that they had
made.
- He is also reminding them of the eagerness they had in the beginning.
- Verse 11 says, "Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched
now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have."
- Is there an area in your life where God clearly showed you what to do?
- Maybe, like the church in Corinth, it was to financially give...
- Or maybe it was a spiritual commitment to grow in His Word or in your
prayer life...
- Maybe it was an act of kindness
- Maybe it was a burden He place on your heart
- Or Maybe it was a step of faith that is way out of your comfort zone...
- Whatever it is ...Remember to finish what you started.
- Remember the joy and enthusiasm that you had in the beginning!
- Remember the burden that God put on your heart
- Today, "I remind you to keep ablaze the gift of God that is in you..."
- God has given you gifts and placed a calling on your life - if you don't use
them, then you are neglecting them.
- So, keep it ablaze! stir it up! Fan it in Flame!
- Get that enthusiasm back!
- Get that Passion and zeal back...
- Most importantly get your love back!
- Phil. 1:6 says, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in
you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
- Just like Christ has not finished the work He started in you, you need to
work with Him and imitate Him.
- God has so much that He wants to accomplish in and through you!
- Your best days are not behind you...they are ahead of you!
- Get Re-Filled and Re-Focused and set out to finish what you have started.
-Finish strong!
- Have a great Weekend!
