- What dominates or controls you?
- Take a quick look at your thought life.
- This verse says that if our sinful nature dominates us, then we will think sinful things.
- The Message translation puts it this way, "Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God."
- Any of your thoughts that are filled with self-achievement and success apart from God can lead you in the wrong direction.
- Are your thoughts filled with being critical of others?
- How about jealousy?
- Anger or resentment?
- Are you filled with Pride or boastfulness?
- That would be your sinful nature.
- When you don't accomplish what you are after, it will lead to depression and anxiety.
- But when you allow the Holy Spirit to control your thoughts, it leads to Real Hope, joy and peace.
- The apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:8, "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
- Fix your mind and thought life on these things.
- “FIX”, that means “Tunnel Vision”…That’s all you can see!
- Don’t let anything distract you from what He wants you to dwell on.
- Ask yourself, "Is what I am focused on, true, right and honorable, pure and lovely?"
- Paul then goes on to say that if you put it into practice, "Then the God of peace will be with you." (Philippians 4:9)
- Today, let the Spirit of God dominate and control your thought life.
- Think on pure thoughts first then it says the God of Peace will be with you!
- He will give you peace in every area of your life.
- Today, let the Holy Spirit have control and live in the peace of God.
- Have a great Weekend!
