Ephesians 1:1-2 NIV
- The apostle Paul is addressing the Church of Ephesus and those who are faithful “In Christ”.
- The term, “In Christ”, “In Him”, or “”in the Lord” occurs 160 times in Paul’s writings.
- Just like they were “In Christ”, so are you!
- Every believer should see themselves as being “In Christ”!
- It means that you don’t live for yourself and your own agenda.
- Your real life should flow out of your connection with Christ.
- Christ lives in you and you live in Christ.
- Your union with Him and your fellowship with Him should be the most important thing in your life.
- This means that you do not view your problems the same anymore.
- You view them through the eyes of Christ.
- You see them through the eyes of an overcomer.
- You have a Helper! He is the Holy Spirit Who lives in you!
- You are not alone.
- It means that you are not trying to find acceptance and love.
- You are already accepted and adopted into the family of God.
- Verse 4 says that your are chosen in Him before the foundation of the world.
- Before you did anything, he already declared you something.
- You are not helpless and abandoned.
- You are accepted and Loved and you have an abundant supply of the Grace of God in your life.
- Today, don’t let your circumstances define you.
- Don’t let anybody else tell you who you are.
- You are defined by who you are in Christ.
- He has already declared who you are!
- That is the importance of being “In Christ”.
- The closer that you get to Him the greater will be your revelation of who you really are and what you have.
- Out of that identity will flow your purpose.
- Today, tell everyone who you really are and let that be reflected in your mindset and actions.
- God bless you!
- Have a great weekend!
